You are a dear and kind person. I believe in the philosphy of getting back what you send out, so perhaps your job is a gift for all that you've given. Thank you for including Nina (Cruzanheart) in your thoughts.
By the way, love the new photo!

Elder removed because of son's mistake...more BS
by LyinEyes inwild turkey ran into an elder he knows in business and the brother didnt know about us d/a ourselves.
which is shocking to me, since there is so much gossip always going on, now i am sure everyone who doesnt know soon will.. anyway, this brother has been an elder for many years, and he told my husband that he was removed because his son, who is a senior in high school was publicly reproved.
i think this is very sad , only because of more of their polices and backward ways of thinking.

The WT is a painful place to be.
Lyin Eyes,
I couldn't have put it better myself. Reading your post made me think of 3 friends my wife and I have. All 3 take anti-depressants just to make to the meetings! They find meeting attendance and service so stressful that they have to take anti-depressants just to make an appearance. Some religon. You've got to get doped up just to show up. Nice. Very nice. I'm sorry for your friend. She needs to see the real truth and get the hell of there. The sooner she does, she'll find life worth living. She deserves better.

Emoticons
by bigfloppydog ini am hoping simon can shed some light here.
i use the emoticons, even put in the space, but nothing comes out except the black letters, not the coloured emotions, i must be doing something wrong.
could someone give me some info on this.

You can't save emoticons to your hard drive as they won't work when trying to paste on this forum. The emoticons must come from a link on the Internet starting with: http followed by :// followed by www. and then the link address.
If you copy the address exactly (delete [IMG] at the beginning and ending of the address) and then paste into the "Insert Picture from Web (Link) icon, it will look like this:

Totally happy in your marriage?
by Lost Diamond inhow many of you are totally, incredibly happy in your marriage?
how many of you feel that your spouse is your absolute soul mate and you couldn't even imagine your being married somebody else?
talking with the women at work, i'm surprised at how many are not totally happy.

Totally happy in your marriage?
Yep. And I don't deserve her either. She's a better wife than I am a husband. With all the heartaches of my life, I will be eternally grateful to God for giving me this woman.
Luv ya Nina.

"... prove to yourself the good and acceptable and perfect will of God." -- Paul, Romans 12:2
I believe if you want to see people and organizations as they really are, you can. All it takes is an open mind and an open heart.

PREACHERS WILL GO TO JAIL
by minimus ina nearby congregation announced that due to the society's winning the case in the supreme court concerning door to door work, territories that have not been worked in 2 years, will now be worked.
publishers should no longer contact the local police dept.
before they go in the field, no longer should they tell the police where they will be working or what cars they will be driving, including license plates.

Is this in response to the Stratton, Ohio case the JWs won? If so, then it would seem presumptuous to then assume that ruling would apply to No Trespassing signs, private property, etc. However, I have not heard of JWs having to notify police of their license plate numbers, etc. Under what circumstances has this happened?

Economic Warnings
by metatron ini hate sounding anything like you know (i really hate it) but there are some very.
ominous things happening in the economic arena that could affect all of us.. the bank of japan tried to sell 10 year bonds to buy up stocks to prevent massive.
bankruptcies.

Unfortunately I think you're correct. It shows the fallacy of the 90's boom as being nothing more than a cheap facade of false earnings and speculative investing gone awry. I look ahead and I am very nervous since it seems as though no one has a handle on what to do and how to correct what could be a free fall in the world economy. What many people don't realize is that what happens in Japan does affect other economies, even America's. We are all tied together economically and if one nation's economy collapases it could easily start a domino effect. Bad times are coming indeed.

I think it just shows they don't give a damn about the average, ordinary person. I think they are evil. I truly hope there is a God who does care, for if there is then these people, and others like them, will have to answer for what they didn't do.

dumb versus ignorant
by larc inafter a person leaves the religion, they can say "why was i so dumb".
dumb implies a lack of intelligence.
however, there are many witnesses that are very intelligent.

"It is very easy to convince people of something that they would like to believe ".
I started studying at 9, and left 18 years later. What I liked about it was they gave me simple answers to complex problems. They could, and would, answer any question I had. I left because they could no longer answer any question I had. So for me, I think I was both: dumb and ignorant. Dumb, because I saw only what I wanted to see, and hear only what I wanted to hear. That's dumb. Ignorant, because well -- I was only 9 and I had no way to know at that time I was being lied to. Fooling a 9 year child is certainly something to be proud of.
